Bloomberg: US Senate Confirms CDC Head a Year After RFK Jr. Fired Prior One

“Schwartz is the first director since Kennedy fired the previous leader last -August after a clash over immunization policy. Since then, the CDC has been led by acting directors, most recently National Institutes of Health director Jay Bhattacharya. During her confirmation hearing, senators questioned Schwartz over her ability to have autonomy from Kennedy’s decisions on vaccine policy and hiring and firing power.”
