NEW POLL: Americans Overwhelmingly Oppose ACA Provisions in GOP Megabill; If Left Intact, Millions Would Lose Care
A new McLaughlin & Associates poll released this morning found that voters across the political spectrum are opposed provisions rolling back ACA in the big beautiful budget bill currently being debated in the U.S. Senate. The version of the bill passed by the U.S. House would destabilize the ACA markets, raise health care costs, kick working Americans off of their coverage and fail to prevent a catastrophic tax hike on care. Its current form would raise costs by up to $15,000 on 24 million Americans, leave 8 million people without insurance and end auto re-enrollment by creating new regulations and red tape.
The new polling finds overwhelming bipartisan support for the Individual Health Insurance Marketplace with 81% of voters more likely to vote for a member of Congress who protected Americans from higher costs. 74% of voters are less likely to vote for a candidate who caused 8 million people to lose their health insurance and 80% believe the best thing for consumers is keeping the exchanges intact.
